What details are displayed in the account widget?
The GigaTrader Account widget displays metrics for Equities accounts, most of which are common for other account types:
- Balance: The current amount of cash in your account.
- Available Funds: The money you can use right now to make new trades, after accounting for existing positions and margin requirements.
- Stock Buying Power: The amount you can spend buying stocks, calculated by your
- Option Buying Power: The amount you can spend buying options (typically equal to your
- Equity: The total value of your account that can be used as margin collateral. This includes cash and the value of non-option positions, but excludes option premiums.
- Net Liq: The total amount you would have if you closed all your positions at current market prices - this represents your true account value, including all positions.
- Market Value Long: The current total value of all your long (buy) positions in stocks and ETFs.
- Market Value Short: The total current value of all your short positions at market close.
- Stock Value Long: The current total value of just your long stock positions.
- Stock Value Short: The current value of your short stock positions (stocks you've borrowed and sold).
- Option Value Long: The current value of your long option positions.
- Option Value Short: The current value of your short option positions.
- Maintenance Excess: How much extra money and equity you have above the minimum required to maintain your current positions (safety buffer for margin trading).
- Reg-T Excess: How much extra money you have above the Regulation T requirements for margin trading.
- Initial Margin: The total amount of Initial margin (margin required when you first open your current positions) of your current positions.
- Maintenance Margin: The minimum amount of money required to keep your current positions open.
- Equity Level: The Percentage of your account equity is available relative to your margin requirements.
- Special Memorandum Account: Extra margin credit held in a special SMA account.
- Unrealized PL: The profit or loss you would make if you closed all your open positions right now (paper gains/losses).
- Day Realized PL: The actual profit or loss you've made from trades completed today.
